Stay Alert Against Investment Scams

At Funding Societies, protecting our customers is a top priority.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has issued an advisory on the rise of investment scams involving fake investment learning advertisements and chat groups impersonating legitimate organisations.

These scams may advertise free investment courses, mentorship programmes or investment opportunities before directing victims to fraudulent websites, mobile applications or payment requests.

Funding Societies will never ask you to:

  • Transfer money to a personal bank account.
  • Join unofficial WhatsApp, Telegram or other messaging chat groups.
  • Download applications from unofficial websites or sources.
  • Make payments based solely on messages received through social media or messaging platforms.

How to Protect Yourself

Before responding to any investment-related advertisement or communication:

  • Verify that you are communicating with Funding Societies through our official website and social media channels.
  • Be cautious of social media advertisements promising guaranteed returns, free investment courses or exclusive investment opportunities.
  • Never transfer funds or disclose personal, banking or account information unless you have independently verified the recipient.
  • Contact Funding Societies through our official customer support channels if a message, advertisement or account appears suspicious.

If You Suspect a Scam

If you encounter a suspicious advertisement, social media account or chat group claiming to represent Funding Societies:

  • Do not make any payments or transfers.
  • Do not share personal, account or banking information.
  • Report the suspicious advertisement, account or page to the relevant social media platform.
  • Contact Funding Societies through our official channels to verify its authenticity.

Stay vigilant. When in doubt, verify first.
